Groundhogs and amigurumi.....
My father was born on February 2, 1917 so that made him an official groundhog. We used to tease Dad about seeing HIS shadow instead of some little rodent who popped his out from the ground in Pennsylvania each year. He died a few years ago after spending his whole life as a dairy farmer.
But - today is not a downer for me! It's his birthday and it's a day I celebrate my Dad. Every year I go to the store and buy a box of Dad's favorite candy - chocolate covered cherries. I take them with me to work and offer them to anyone and everyone. So, go buy a chocolate covered cherry today and say Happy Birthday, Dad!
Since today is a celebration - I've got happy crochet today!

Making the amigurumi dolls is soooooo addicting! I can make one up in a weekend or less and feel like I've accomplished something! The polar bear was my first one, followed by the kitty - which is a stuffed version of the orange cats who decided to live with me - and Hello Kitty! I bought a Hello Kitty! pattern book in Chinese with international symbols. After making the first amigurumi, I got the idea and now can follow the symbols pretty well. Of course, my son, the anime fan loves to steal them from me and put them in his room!
