Having a bad day?

I've discovered the secret to working out your angst on a bad day - needle felting!! Nothing like sticking a big barb of metal into a piece of wool and foam over and over and over! After a half hour of needle felting, you feel refreshed and ready to take on the world again!

I had such a rotten day yesterday that I took out the foam and a couple of hats that I had felted. I had some ideas in my head for awhile of what I wanted to put on the hats. So I took out the needles and wool roving. Took about 30 minutes for each hat and voila! A statement and my angst was gone! Just a couple quick pix from my computer webcam:

Felted Spiral Hat....

I thought I posted this already but it seems I haven't! This is a hat I made for my son who has thick thick hair like his mom! It's worse for him, though because if you cut thick thick thick hair short for a male, it tends to poof out. It drives him insane! Can't say I blame him. So, I made a hat for him that will tame his wet morning hair and keep him warm when he goes outside. It's made of Paton's wool yarn and is crocheted using a half double stitch then it was felted. The spiral is a kick I'm on in beadmaking so I repeated the idea in his hat - the spiral is needle felted onto the hat.
